Flight 370 is lost, it is not 'Lost'

  • Vanished plane? Mysterious islands? Airline's fate drawing increasing comparisons to the TV show
  • Some online are critical of analogy, say it's in poor taste
Flight 370 is lost, it is not 'Lost'

How do you explain it? How do you explain a modern airplane with state-of-the-art technology vanishing? 

Officially, you can't. No one can so far.

Unofficially though? You reference "Lost."

The similarities between the TV show and the mystery surrounding Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 are being noted with increasing frequency online. New indications that the plane was heading in the direction of the relatively uninhabited Andaman Islands (pictured above) -- off of which an earthquake was reported Friday -- pretty much supercharged tweets to this effect all day Friday.

It's also prompted a volley of reminders that 1) The Internet has already made this association, thank you and 2) There's a very serious difference between the "Lost" plane and this lost plane, specifically the lives of the 239 people onboard.
