Justin Bieber may be living it up on the beaches of Panama just days after being arrested for an alleged DUI, but there's a movement brewing in America to deport the singer back to Canada.
A "Deport Justin Bieber" petition at whitehouse.gov, asking President Obama to deport the pop star, has racked up nearly 70,000 signatures in just a few days.
"We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture," the petition states. "We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked. He is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nations youth. We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society."
Though the petition asks for the government to revoke Bieber's green card, the pop star is actually here on a work visa.
The petition was launched Thursday after the pop star's arrest last week in Miami Beach and has the support of at least one star: "Drake & Josh" actor Drake Bell, who has urged his Twitter followers to sign it and "join the movement." Once the petition reaches 100,000 signatures, the White House will be forced to respond.
What do you think of the petition? Would you sign it?
