The man who slapped a crying baby on a plane will spend eight months in federal prison.

Joe Hundley was sentenced yesterday in Atlanta.

Prosecutors recommended six-months, but the judge tacked on two more because of a prior record.

Prosecutors said Hundley called the 19-month-old a racial slur before hitting him last February.

His lawyer says Hundley was distraught, and grieving, over the health of his son, at the time.
