Roasted 'Duck': Phil Robertson's hairy road to fame

A&E may have suspended Phil Robertson from filming future episodes of "Duck Dynasty" but that doesn't mean you won't get your fill of the patriarch this Christmas during the "Duck Dynasty" marathon!

That's right, A&E will air 12 straight hours of its hit show starting at 3:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.

Several people on Twitter seemed to take issue with A&E's move:

Robertson was suspended "indefinitely" by A&E last week for comments he made in the January issue of GQ. When asked what he thought was sinful, Robertson replied: "Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men."

"We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson's comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty," the network said in a statement released last Wednesday. "His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely."

Robertson broke his silence this past Sunday in an interview with Will Payne, a senior reporter with the UK's Daily Mail.

"He's perfectly comfortable with what he said, he believes in what he said," Payne told CNN. "He's got steadfast religious beliefs that aren't going to be affected by anyone ... and he doesn't see it as anything hugely controversial."

The show's future remains in limbo after the family released a statement last week saying they "cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm. We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty."
