The Friday before final exams, students at the Division III school in Upland, Indiana, gather in Odle Arena for their team's basketball game and remain completely silent until the team scores its 10th point. Then, the crowd erupts into mass hysteria.
This year's game against Indiana-Dabney lived up to the hype. After Ben Raichel hit a 3-pointer with 15:24 left to go in the first half, the sold-out crowd went crazy. (Yes, we see you Aquaman, Incredible Hulk, Gumby and Starfleet Academy grads)
Near the end of the game, the students lock arms and sing "Silent Night."
Oh, by the way, Taylor defeated Indiana-Dabney 94-72. The school has never lost its "Silent Night" game.
