Well this could not have come at a better time.
Breathe easy everybody. Yes, we know the wounds are still quite fresh from "Bound 2" and, in the case of Miley Cyrus' Carnival of Shock, probably never going to heal.
But things are about to get better for music. Like 3000 times better. Because Outkast is getting back together, according to multiple sources.
The iconic, genre-bending "ATLiens" have been off doing their own things for almost a decade now (Really? That long already?? *checks notes* Jeeez. Yup, that's right.) but appear ready to reunite, beginning at next year's Coachella music festival.
Nobody from Team Outkast has said anything about this yet, so temper the enthusiasm just a touch while loading up "Ms. Jackson." But Billboard cites several unnamed sources who say Coachella "would be the start of the reunion run and would be followed by additional festival dates in 2014."
The rumors had been floating around for several days and gained even more legitimacy Wednesday, when longtime collaborator Sleepy Brown sent up a post on Instagram with the text, "OutKast Headlining Coachella 2014." Which is good. But then he deleted the post. Which is... bad? Or at least a sign that maybe he'd jumped the gun?
Interpret as you will. But we do know this: We appear to be a lot closer to hearing more "B.O.B." and "Rosa Parks" today than we were yesterday, and we're definitely one day further removed from that "Bound 2" video.
This calls for celebration. Bring me all of the Outkast!!
