Viral video drunk driver hears sentence today

  • Matthew Cordle posted a video taking responsibility for deadly crash
  • His lawyer wants a lighter sentence
In this Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2013 photo, Matthew Cordle enters court for his arraignment on a charge of aggravated vehicular homicide in Columbus, Ohio. Attorneys are seeking a reduced sentence for Cordle, who confessed in an online video to causing a fatal wrong-way crash after a night of drinking.

The man who confessed online to driving drunk and killing a man will hear his sentence today in Ohio.

Matthew Cordle posted a video over the summer in which he admitted his crime and promised to plead guilty, which he did.

His lawyers want a reduced sentence. They say he's "riddled with guilt."

But the victim's daughter says he should not be seen as a hero for confessing.

By law, Cordle can get 8 years max.
