Kanye West popped the question to Kim Kardashian this week in San Francisco’s AT&T Park, and much like he and his beau, the proposal was anything but low-key. A 50-piece orchestra played music as the field's jumbo screen read “PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!” A grand gesture for sure, but how does it stack up to some of the best viral marriage proposals on the Internet? Grab a box of tissues and judge for yourself:
At the Movies
This guy always told his girlfriend they would “make the movies jealous” -- he showed her he meant that literally with this fake movie trailer proposal.
The night started off rough for this young lady when an actress threw a glass of water on her boyfriend. The unsuspecting lass then went from girlfriend to fiancé to (surprise!) bride in the span of a few minutes, as she was led through a massive dancing crowd to an altar for a surprise wedding on live TV.
A proposal doesn’t need thousands of dollars thrown at it to become viral, though. This guy got all the bride’s friends and family to live-dub a choreographed dance to Bruno Mars’s “Marry Me.”
Arguably the most important part of making a proposal special is designing it specifically for the relationship you have. This man tapped into he and his love's quirky sense of humor with a meme proposal.
