Michael Douglas: I lied about cancer

  • Says he had tongue cancer, not throat cancer
  • Douglas was about to do a press tour for 'Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps'
Actor Michael Douglas initially told people he had throat cancer, but now reveals that his surgeon told him to say it was throat cancer.

Michael Douglas says he lied about his cancer.

Last spring, he told everybody he had throat cancer.

But now he says it was actually tongue cancer.

While being interviewed by Samuel L. Jackson on British TV for a special series on men and cancer, he says his surgeon told him to lie, because surgery for tongue cancer can get pretty ugly:

At first Douglas said he got the cancer from oral sex but he quickly back peddled on that.

Douglas is now two years cancer free.
