Becky Swales and her family knew she was running out of time. The Georgia mother had been battling breast cancer and recently doctors had informed her that she may have only weeks to live. It was devastating news, especially since Swales had hoped to survive to see her three daughters get married.
Jodie, Sarah, and Kaylie Swales all happened to be engaged, and were planning a triple wedding for late October. However, upon learning their mother may not survive until then, they managed to change their plans. This past weekend, the three sisters all wed their respective husbands and their mother was able to look on.
"It's kind of bittersweet," Jodie Swales told WAGA in Atlanta. "We are happy that she's here, but this will probably be the last big thing that we do with her."
All three women, dressed in shiny white dresses, their dark hair curled, poured affection on their mother and walked down the aisle one by one with their father, Otis Swales, beside them.
"It's hard, but I'm proud of my daughters," Otis Swales said. "I just pray God gives me strength to get through every day."
The Swales family was not alone during this emotional time. The sisters received donations to ensure that their wedding was everything they -- and their mother -- had always wanted.
This was Sunday. On Monday morning, Becky Swales passed away, her last wish fulfilled.
