After 22 years, an arrest has been made in Baby Hope's murder. Conrado Juarez, 52, confessed Saturday to the sexual assault and murder. According to authorities, a recent anonymous tip they received helped crack the case open.
Baby Hope -- now identified as 4-year-old Anjelica Castillo -- was discovered on July 23, 1991. New York police found the severely decomposed body in a cooler near a New York parkway. Juarez recounted the incident to police, claiming he smothered the girl's body and recruited his sister to help get rid of the body.
There was no information about Baby Hope's family or disappearance, forcing the investigation to turn cold. With the help of detectives, Baby Hope was laid to rest two years later.
For 15 years after finding the girl, the case remained unsolved. In 2006, the use of forensic DNA helped crack the case open once more. Baby Hope's body was exhumed in 2006. In 2011, a DNA profile for her was built.
New information helped match Anjelica Castillo to her mother earlier in October.
