USDA to Foster Farms: Clean-up or get shut down

USDA threatens to shut down chicken plants over salmonella outbreak

The United States Department of Agriculture is threatening to shut down three chicken plants in the salmonella outbreak.

Foster farms has until today to come up with a plan to fix what the USDA calls "insanitary conditions."

Nearly 300-people in 18 states have gotten sick from tainted chicken.

The company says its facilities exceed USDA standards and, it is working to address the situation.
