Amanda Bynes is “making great strides toward recovery,” according to her parents.
Rick and Lynn Bynes released a statement through their lawyer Monday confirming that their daughter left UCLA Medical Center, where she has been treated since being placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold in July. Amanda is now receiving “specialized treatment in a private facility outside of Los Angeles.”
The former child star was taken to the hospital and involuntarily committed for psychiatric evaluation this summer after she allegedly set a fire in a stranger's residential driveway. She was taken on a 5150 hold after allegedly putting a lit piece of cloth on top of a gas can.
Lynn Bynes was granted conservatorship of her daughter after Amanda’s hospitalization in July. According to the statement, Lynn withdrew her petition for conservatorship in a probate court Monday morning “in an effort not to duplicate conservator rights.”
Amanda’s parents said they would like thank her “supporters and well-wishers for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
