Former "Jon & Kate Plus 8" star Jon Gosselin went from being paid to fly around the world and partying in places like Vegas and Miami to living in a TV- and Internet-free cabin and waiting tables for a living.
Four years after he appeared on the lucrative TLC reality show with then-wife Kate Gosselin and their eight children, Gosselin revealed to "Entertainment Tonight" that he is living a much simpler life, even becoming a waiter at a Beckersville, Pennsylvania restaurant.
"At first I was nervous because I was like, 'How are people going to react?'" Gosselin said. "But then I'm thinking 'Well it's fun and I get to talk to people.' And they technically already know me … they're like 'Are you the guy?' I'm like 'Yeah, I'm the guy.'"
The 36-year-old says he found it nearly "impossible" to find work after his notoriety form the show, but that he doesn't regret anything. "You learn from your mistakes," he said. "That's what builds you to who you are today."
Gosselin admits that it hasn't all been easy. “I’ve hit rock bottom about 20 times, and then I bounce back again," he told ET. His messy 2009 divorce from Kate left a few scars on the pair, with Gosselin admitting that he doesn't "have a relationship with Kate," and that they primarily communicate through text and email.
He added that when it is his turn to pick up their children, "the nanny comes out and I exchange the kids at her gate or at the bus stop. I don't physically see her."
