Police are asking the two armed men suspected of abducting a 14-year-old during a home invasion on Tuesday to return her safely to her parents.

"We want this to end peacefully and we're just going to continue to search diligently for them," Clayton County Police Sergeant Kevin Hughes told HLN's Raising America on Wednesday. "They need to know the severity of the crimes that they've committed and try and make it easy by just turning the child in and let us get her back home safely to her parents."

The FBI has joined the search for Ayvani Hope Perez who was kidnapped early Tuesday morning from her home in an Atlanta, Georgia, suburb.

The teen was last seen wearing blue and grey Star Wars pajama bottoms and a blue and gray superhero shirt, according to an Amber Alert. She is Hispanic, has black hair and brown eyes, is four-feet-nine-inches tall and weighs 93 pounds. She may be traveling in a gray Dodge.

The two suspects, described as black men who were wearing dark clothing, pried open the family's back door at around 2:15 a.m. ET Tuesday in Ellenwood, Georgia, according to police. Perez's mother told investigators she tried to hide her two children but the gunman found them and demanded money and jewelry.

Police say the two men shot the family dog -- who survived -- and abducted Ayvani after the family failed to met their demands.

There have been no sightings of Ayvani since she went missing in the metro Atlanta area, according to police. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Clayton County Police Department at 678-610-4781.
