There she is: Getting ready for Miss America
Miss America 2014 contestant Miss New York Nina Davuluri (R) is crowned 2014 Miss America by 2013 Miss America as Miss California Crystal Lee looks on during the Miss America Competition at Boardwalk Hall Arena on September 15, 2013 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The new Miss America, crowned in Atlantic City last night, is 24-year-old Nina Davuluri.

She is the first Indian-American to win, and performed a Bollywood dance number in the talent contest. She says she wants to become a doctor like her dad.

But some negative tweets in the wake of her victory are being called racist.

First runner up was miss California Crystal Lee. Before the results were announced, Davuluri said both women made history as Asian-Americans.
