First came the outrage after the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman in the "Batman vs. Superman" movie, due to be released July 17, 2015.
Now, social media has exploded over the thought of Justin Bieber playing Batman’s sidekick, Robin.
Bieber sent fans into a tizzy Sunday when he posted a picture on his Instagram account of him holding what appears to be a screenplay for the upcoming superhero flick, with a large imprint of his name on the cover. He included the hashtag #Robin in the caption.

Online reaction to the idea of the 19-year-old Bieber as Robin was overwhelmingly negative. However, some Twitter users insisted Bieber was pulling an elaborate prank, saying it was only a "joke," and a "hoax."
Just hours before posting the picture, Bieber tweeted that he was "off to do something funny . . . or die," leading to speculation the script could simply be a part of a parody video for the Funny Or Die website.
