Hoodies n' Cream? Facebook-flavored ice cream exists

Editor's note: Each week, we're scouting out amazing innovations, cutting-edge technology and, well, just really awesome ideas. Before it goes mainstream, it's going to be one of our favorite 5 Things From The Future!

Right there at the top of the list of "Maddeningly Irresistible Things Which We Know We Should Only Consume In Small Amounts But Can't Help Binging On Way Too Often Against Our Better Judgment" is Facebook. And after that, ice cream.

So what happens when you combine these two great seductive tastes? Do they indeed taste great together? Eh, maybe.

Some ice cream vendors with a knack for marketing eclipsed only by their disregard for copyright concerns have created something they call Facebook ice cream at their restaurant in Croatia.

But if you're expecting some inventive flavor or digitally enhanced treat that maybe automatically posts a photo of you and your cone when you order, well, standby for a double scoop of disappointment.

Valentino's "Facebook-flavored" ice cream is just vanilla ice cream topped with blue food dye. It allegedly tastes something like "sugary sweets and chewing gum," according to PSFK.

Huh. Still, my biggest gripe with it is the ice cream's name. Just "Facebook"? That's it? They could have done so much better. A few suggestions:

Choco-Like Chip

Hoodies n' Cream

Instagram Cracker Crunch

Butter-Poke'n

Zuckerberry

And of course, everybody's favorite, Mint Chocolate Cyberstalking Photos of My Ex-Girlfriend at 2 a.m.

As for a topping, a nod to the twins who hatched the Facebook idea: The Sprinklevii.

And now, on to the rest of this week's amazing 5 Things From the Future!

- Clone army? Handheld device scans any object for 3D printing.

- Beer cooler blocks cell signals to encourage actual face-to-face conversation when hanging out.

- Build-a-Bear? Forget it. How 'bout Build-a-Digital-Camera. Kids put together this device before they point n' shoot.

- 3D printing, NASA-style: Robot would build components in outer space.
