Three high school soccer players were arrested Friday for alleged sexual assault at a Massachusetts sports camp. According to prosecutors, three victims were assaulted last Sunday after the group of Somerville High School juniors entered a cabin of freshmen students.
The oldest suspect, 17, faces charges of aggravated rape of a child under 16, indecent assault and battery on a person who has turned 14, assault and battery, and intimidation of a witness. According to the Boston Globe, his lawyer says his client maintains his innocence.
The two younger suspects face similar allegations. All three will be arraigned Tuesday.
Authorities began a criminal investigation immediately after being notified of the allegations earlier this week. The town's mayor and superintendent say they are "disturbed and appalled" by the charges.
