'Blade Runner' indicted for murder

  • Trial to begin in March
  • Prosecutors plan to call 107 witnesses
  • Reeva Steenkamp's family won't go to his trial
South African Paralympic sprinter Oscar Pistorius (3rd L) stands next to his sister Aimee (L) and his brother Carl (2nd L), as he appears at the Magistrate Court in Pretoria on August 19, 2013. Pistorius appeared on charges of murdering his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on February 14, Valentine's Day.

The Olympic “Blade Runner,” Oscar Pistorius, has now been indicted for premeditated murder in the death of his girlfriend, model Reeva Steenkamp.

He was in court this morning in South Africa.

Pistorius was praying and crying with his family this morning in court while Steenkamp’s friends sat close by.

She would have turned 30 today.

Pistorius could be seeing many birthdays himself before his trial is over. While it starts in March, prosecutors have a list of 107 witnesses. Because of that, the case could drag on for years.

Pistorius says he thought he was shooting an intruder when he fired at Steenkamp through a bathroom door on Valentine's night this year.

Her family says for her birthday today, they'll all be together to remember her, and they don't plan to attend the trial.
