On Friday, a judge granted Amanda Bynes' mother temporary conservatorship over the troubled 27-year-old actress.
According to a court document, the former child star's mother, Lynn Bynes, will now be in charge of her daughter's finances and well-being, after the judge based his decision on the findings of an investigator who was charged with evaluating Bynes' health and mental well-being.
The temporary conservatorship will last only until September 30, at which point the judge will hold a formal hearing on whether to make it permanent. Bynes is staying at a psychiatric hospital under a 5150 hold, which allows authorities to hold someone involuntarily if they are deemed mentally unfit or a danger to themselves and others.
Bynes has been making headlines for months for her erratic behavior, including an arrest in New York for reckless endangerment and then most recently, she set a fire on the driveway of a stranger’s home.
