Historic Supreme Court marriage rulings expected

  • Court expected to announce decisions on California's 'Prop 8' and 'DOMA' today
File photo: WASHINGTON, DC - MARCH 27: Eric Breese (L) of Rochester, New York, joins fellow George Washington University students and hundreds of others to rally outside the Supreme Court during oral arguments in a case challenging the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) March 27, 2013 in Washington, DC.

The Supreme Court is expected to make some major rulings this morning, likely including two historic decisions on same-sex marriage.

Justices could decide on California’s Proposition 8, which would potentially make same-sex marriage legal in that state.

The court will also rule on the "Defense of Marriage Act," or DOMA, which would decide whether same-sex couples can get the same federal benefits that married men and women do.

We'll bring you the rulings as soon as they happen on HLN.
