Singer Chris Brown was charged Tuesday with two misdemeanor counts for a hit and run and driving without a license, stemming from a car accident in May.
The 24-year-old pop star, who is currently on felony probation stemming from a domestic violence dispute with fellow singer Rihanna, was charged by the Los Angeles City Attorney's office, which will notify the District Attorney's office out of courtesy.
Brown was involved in a minor accident in May, in which he reportedly rear-ended another vehicle. Brown took to Twitter on Tuesday to give his version of events.
According to Frank Mateljan of the L.A. City Attorney's office, Brown could face up to one year in jail for the most recent charges. The singer's arraignment is scheduled for July 15.
