After a destructive tornado swept through Oklahoma on Tuesday, celebrities with ties to the Sooner State offered their condolences and prayers on the red carpet and via Twitter.
Showbiz Tonight caught up with musical group Hanson -- the three brothers hail from Tulsa, OKlahoma -- on the red carpet at "The Hangover 3" premiere in Los Angeles on Monday night. "It's tragic," said youngest brother Zac. "No matter how much, you know there’s a culture in Oklahoma knowing tornadoes is a reality and so you prepare for that and I have a storm shelter in my house -- I know Taylor does, but at this level you know, it was the strongest force of nature, period. You know wind speeds of almost 300 miles per hour, it’s just no matter how much you prepare you still can’t prepare for that. It’s just tragic and terrible."
Taylor Hanson also noted that the band is ready to do what they can to help its home state saying, "In general as dads, as Oklahomans, we’re grateful to those who have jumped in like the Red Cross and our hearts go out to the ones who have lost family members, and we’re ready to jump in and do what we can. Hopefully also a lot of people will be giving and donating their time and all you can do is pray for the best at this point.” Eldest brother Isaac added, "Okies are good folks. They will find a way to get through it, but it’s going to be a hard, hard time for the next several months obviously.”
Other celebrities from Oklahoma quickly took to Twitter to share their messages with their home state.
Basketball players who play for the state's home team, Oklahoma City Thunder, also tweeted their messages and encouraged people to donate to the Red Cross relief efforts.
