Kickstart This! Kobe beef jerky, you say?

Editor's note: It's always a pleasure to find a great project to back on Kickstarter, but there are so many to sift through! Kickstart This! does the work for you, highlighting the most interesting finds of the week in one handy roundup.

Kobe Red
Goal: $2,374
Ends: June 13

You're a fan of beef jerky, you say? How do you feel about the idea of beef jerky made with Kobe beef, that rich and flavorful steak that you see on Japanese menus from time to time? If you're searching for a bucket to catch your own saliva, you'll probably want to back this one. Kobe Red met its goal a while ago, but you can still back it and experience what jerky made from beer-fed cattle tastes like. We suspect it'll probably blow your minds (and ours).

Melon: A Headband and Mobile App to Measure Your Focus
Goal: $100,00
Ends: June 13

This headband may look a little bit silly, but its function is so cool you'll soon forget all about what you look like. What it does is remarkable -- by measuring your brain activity using an EEG, the Melon can tell you how you focus, and how you can improve your focus with certain recommended activities and exercises. The software is also open-source, and the founders of the project even offer a development kit in case you want to throw your ideas in the ring.

Fascinator Hat Trick Tour and Design Series
Goal: $8,400
Ends: June 10

If watching "Mad Men" makes you long for an era of long-forgotten glamour, this Kickstarter is going to be right up your alley. Florida designer Judi Bradford makes exquisite hats with all the trimmings you'd expect of the 1920s New York, complete with veils, feathers and buttons. She wants to study in England with some of the best milliners. In return for your support, she will make you the most unique hat you've ever owned. A fine deal, indeed.

NeoLucida -- A Portable Camera for the 21st Century
Goal: $15,000
Ends: June 10

The NeoLucida is the kind of project that inspires awe and amazement, especially if you love historical objects. A 19th century drawing tool, this object will let you trace what you see in a way you never have before. While the Kickstart itself is already fully funded, it's worth keeping an eye on -- and you can still buy the NeoLucida in 2014.

On the DL presents 'Working America"
Goal: $20,000
Ends: May 30

This highly talented group of dancers is working on a performance dedicated to "working America," the 9-5 grind that so many of us know intimately. It seems like a pretty interesting take on a topic that we can all relate to. Not to mention, these cats can really dance.
