Authorities say an Illinois limo driver was arrested for allegedly driving drunk while transporting 23 high school students to their prom in a party bus.
According to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office, 54-year-old Richard Madison was driving the Oswego East High School students to prom in unincorporated Glen Ellyn on Saturday night. Some of the students became concerned about his "erratic driving" and called their parents. Two off-duty police officers who were working as security at the event were notified and they contacted the sheriff's office.
WGN reported that Madison's blood alcohol content was allegedly nearly three times the legal limit when he was arrested.
Madison has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence and one count of reckless conduct. He was released on bond from DuPage County Jail.
