Editor's note: Tweet Nothings is a weekly scroll through celeb Twitter accounts that we follow so you don't have to.
It's kind of becoming customary to give your mom a Mother's Day shout on social media. Hopefully, there's at least a card or phone call that accompanies it since a status update of "Mom, ur da best..." by itself is a pretty lame Mother's Day acknowledgement. But whatever. That's a thing. People are doing it.
Cher, on the other hand, has taken the online momfest to another level. The autotune pioneer's 1.4 million Twitter followers (Wait. 1.4 million?? Impressive.) have recently been given a virtual play-by-play of Cher's adventures with and affections for her mom, songwriter Georgia Holt.
This probably has a lot to do with the pair's new Lifetime documentary and collaboration on the 87-year-old Holt's first album. And yes, it teeters on oversharing (over-Chering?) but we're willing to forgive it because, well Mother's Day. And even Cher's frantic, sometimes indecipherable, CAPS LOCKed tweets are so, so much better than "Mom, ur da best..."
This has nothing to do with Cher's mom. We just love the fact it was retweeted more than 600 times.
…wait for it…
No idea what this means. Sounds fun?
Quick note: Just because Twitter now allows you to use hard returns doesn't mean you should. Actually, to be more clear: You shouldn't. They're awful.
