Country music legend George Jones passed away Friday after a recent bout of ill health.
Jones, 81, was a member of the Grand Ole Opry, a Grammy winner and an inductee in the Country Music Hall of Fame. He recorded more than 160 charted singles during his storied career, most notably "She Thinks I Still Care," "Walk Through this World with Me," and "He Stopped Loving Her Today," arguably one of the greatest and saddest country songs of all time.
Jones was also presented with the Kennedy Center Honor for lifetime achievement in 2008, one of the highest honors in the field of performing arts. At the time of his death, Jones was in the middle of what he termed his "farewell tour," which was supposed to end in November 2013. Sadly, we are saying farewell far too soon.
