If dogs could talk, the one belonging to accused killer Jodi Arias' ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander might have a lot to say. The tiny pug-mix named Napoleon has been brought up by Arias and others during the Jodi Arias trial as being in the bedroom at the time of the killing. Aside from these mentions, there has been little talk of the canine.
It turns out Napoleon is now with Deanna Reid, Alexander’s former girlfriend, who took the stand Tuesday as part of the state’s rebuttal case. Reid testified that Alexander never abused her, nor showed any attraction to young boys -- two points that contradict Arias' portrayal of Alexander.
Reid and Alexander broke up in 2005, when she wanted marriage and he didn’t. She said they remained friends after the breakup. A Facebook post says Napoleon is now elderly, blind and deaf.
Arias has mentioned Napoleon several times during the murder investigation and trial. When she was being interrogated by Mesa, Arizona, detective Esteban Flores, she blamed Napoleon for her blood being found in the bathroom. Arias said it was from a time she bathed the dog several months before Alexander's death.
On the stand, Arias also said that one of the last conversations she had with Alexander was about pictures she took of the dog for a Facebook page he was setting up for Napoleon.
