Two children buried at construction site

People dug in the dirt with their bare hands to try and rescue two children trapped when a basement under construction collapsed on them.

This happened about 20 miles northwest of Charlotte, North Carolina, Sunday.

The six-year-old girl and seven-year-old-boy, both cousins, had been playing in a hole being dug.

The dirt apparently gave-way, burying them.

After hours of digging, officials said the rescue mission was officially a recovery effort.
