Police say an alleged drunk burglar was found passed out in a bedroom closet in a New Haven, Connecticut, home Sunday morning.
According to HLN affiliate WTNH, officers were called around 12:10 a.m. Sunday after the homeowner discovered his kitchen window broken and saw blood. The owner reportedly then searched the house and found 52-year-old Robert Mero unconscious and bleeding in the bedroom closet.
WTNH reported that Mero had been drinking and told responding officers he broke in to the house. Mero was treated for lacerations and charged with burglary and criminal mischief.
He remains in custody on $15,000 bond, according to jail records.
