Dental nightmare for thousands

Dental nightmare for thousands

Seven thousand people now have to worry that they may have been exposed to HIV and hepatitis while visiting their dentist.

Health officials in Tulsa, Oklahoma say they were stunned by the health and safety violations at the practice of longtime oral surgeon Scott Harrington.

Harrington is accused of using rusty, unsterilized instruments, and expired drugs.

He's been practicing in Oklahoma for 36 years but just gave up his license and is cooperating with health officials.

They say his patients from 2007 until now can get free testing as a precaution.

HLN could not reach Harrington for comment.
