Some LED light bulbs catching fire

  • Check your fixtures for bulbs with brand names: Definity, Eco-smart, Sylvania or Westinghouse
Some Definity, Eco-smart, Sylvania and Westinghouse LED bulbs recalled due to fire hazard

Check your lamps and light fixtures. Half a million LED bulbs are being recalled because they might catch fire.

There are several cases of smoke or fire coming from them.

They are 6, 8 and 9 watt (equivalent to 40 or 50 watts) LED bulbs made by Lighting Science Group, but you may have purchased them under the brand names Definity, Eco-smart, Sylvania or Westinghouse.

Remove the bulbs immediately. The manufacturer will send you a replacement.

Note: The bulb shown above is only one style of recalled bulb, yours may look different.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has all the details: LED light bulbs recalled due to fire hazard
