Tonight at 8 p.m. ET Nancy Grace Investigates Jodi Arias: The Defense’s Case
The verdict is getting close! During this special, Nancy Grace will examine the graphic and detailed testimony of Jodi Arias. She spent eight days under direct examination detailing her version of events leading up, during and after the killing of Travis Alexander. Nancy Grace will expose Arias’ contradictions, web of lies, and examine what worked in her favor.
It’s going to be a tough act to follow, but once Jodi Arias is finished testifying, her defense team is expected to call their final two witnesses.
One of those witnesses will likely be domestic violence expert Alyce LaViolette.

LaViolette’s website says she specializes in “anger management, domestic violence counseling for survivors and perpetrators.” She has been working with battered women since 1978 and also developed a domestic violence training program for Los Angeles County, California’s Department of Children and Family Services.
“Ms. LaViolette speaks nationally and internationally. She has also consulted with governmental agencies in Japan, Israel, and Cape Verde, Africa. She is a frequently requested conference and keynote speaker. She has consulted with corporations and serves as an Advisory Board Member on the Corporate Alliance to End Partner Violence. [LaViolette] serves as an expert witness in criminal, civil and family court. She has testified as an expert witness and consulted on issues as diverse as coercion in an inheritance case, to homicide, other felonies and child custody,” reads LaViolette’s website.

Arias testified that her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander physically abused her, and that he was a sexual deviant who was aroused by children. Alexander's physical and sexual abuse allegedly pushed Arias to the point that she had to kill him in self-defense.
LaViolette’s testimony may support Arias’ claim that she was in an abusive relationship. She may also have an explanation for what motivated Arias to lie about killing Alexander.
