Giuliana: I put my marriage before my baby!

Giuliana Rancic says the secret to a happy household -- at least for her -- is to prioritize her husband over her child.

Defying the age-old notion that having a baby puts everything else on the back burner, the E! News star reveals that in order to do what's best for her family, she puts her marriage to husband Bill Rancic over her baby, 6-month-old Edward Duke.

"We're husband and wife, but we're also best friends, and it's funny because a lot of people, when they have kids, they put the baby first, and the marriage second," the 37-year-old breast cancer survivor told US Weekly on Tuesday.

"That works for some people. For us, I find, we put our marriage first and our child second, because the best thing we can do for him is have a strong marriage."

The couple welcomed their son via gestational surrogate last summer after undergoing numerous unsuccessful in vitro treatments. The television host, who reported on the Oscars red carpet Sunday for E!, explained that she and her husband are a team when it comes to caring for their little one.

"Oscar morning, Duke wakes up, like, twice during the night because he's so hungry and wants to eat every four hours. So Bill, like, no question was like 'I got it. Tonight you get a good night's sleep.' And when Bill has shoots the next day or meetings the next day, I do it…. It's kind of amazing…. I always say to Bill, 'You were my first baby,' because he was! He was my first love and my first baby and Duke is my second baby."

While it may be difficult to juggle two successful careers, a healthy marriage and a growing baby, Rancic says that she and her husband are "even stronger than we ever were before and even imagined we could be."
