"Downton Abbey" may be adding some diversity to its next season.
A black character named Jack Ross is slated to woo his way onto the scene of PBS' most popular series. The new character will be someone very handsome and able to sing, since Jack’s character is that of a club singer, according to The Sun newspaper.
Casting notes sent out to agents earlier this month describe Ross as having a “wow factor” and being between the ages of 25 and 30 years old, reported the Sun.
No word on what his story line will be besides that of a singer or if he will be a love interest. And Jack isn't the only new face coming to the "Abbey."
There will be several new characters next season, including a love interest for Lady Mary Crawley named Lord Anthony Gillingham, who is described as quite dashing, very good looking, and between the ages of 35 and 45 years old.
Filming for season 4, which premieres in the UK in the fall and in early 2014 in the U.S., is set to begin next month.
