Watch Jodi Arias testify live on truTV's In Session and HLN
Prosecutor Juan Martinez continued his attack Tuesday on what he has called a “litany of lies” by Jodi Arias. The two had a particularly tense exchange when Martinez asked, "Are you having problems understanding?"
"Sometimes because you go in circles," replied Arias.
Arias claims her abusive relationship with her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander culminated with her killing him in self-defense.

12:35 p.m. ET: From our producer in the courtroom:
Judge Sherry Stephens is on the bench handling other matters. Arias is already in the courtroom with the defense team. Testimony should begin in a few moments.
Under a barrage of questions about a TV interview she did, Martinez got Arias to admit Monday that she was untruthful at times. She also said a journal she wrote at the time didn't paint a complete picture of daily events.
"It doesn’t talk anything about getting hit on the side of the head with the hand, does it?" Martinez asked at one point.
During his cross-examination Monday, Martinez pointed out several times that there is no corroborating evidence that Alexander was physically abusive.
Martinez showed the jury Arias’ journal entries from the dates she said Alexander hit her, and there was no mention of him hitting her or choking her like she has claimed. He also displayed text messages between Arias and Alexander from the dates the alleged abuse took place, but again there was no mention of him becoming physically violent.
“This entry does not corroborate what happened in the car,” Martinez said. “You didn’t call the police?”
“No,” replied Arias.
Martinez asked, “You didn’t tell anyone about it?”
“No,” replied Arias.
Martinez said, “There is no corroboration; all we have is your word.”
Arias said multiple times that the journal and the text messages do not paint a complete picture of what happened those days.
Martinez has jumped around chronologically during his cross-examination of Arias, which is likely a technique to keep her off-guard. He has also maintained an aggressive courtroom demeanor.

Martinez also pointed out Monday the many lies Arias has told since Alexander died June 4, 2008. He played parts of a CBS “48 Hours” interview, during which Arias claimed two intruders killed Alexander at his home in Mesa.
At one point Monday, Arias said she did not want her parents to see her admit to killing Alexander on TV. Martinez shot back, "Then why are you admitting to it now?"
Honing in on the details of Alexander's brutal death, Martinez said, "Can you imagine how much it must have hurt Mr. Alexander when you stuck that knife right into his chest?"
