Two systems will combine to make one monster winter storm over the Northeast on Friday.
The first storm system is a clipper that is currently over the Great Lakes and the Midwest. The second one is a storm that’s dumping heavy rain on the Gulf Coast and Georgia Thursday morning.
Those two systems will merge off the coast of Long Island, New York, or Massachusetts late Friday and will blast New England with snow through Saturday.
A blizzard watch is in effect for east Massachusetts (including Boston), Rhode Island and Connecticut for Friday afternoon into Saturday afternoon.
I can see up to two feet of snow falling in interior New England total, along with winds up to 50 mph.
It looks to me like the snow even makes it to NYC with around half a foot falling on the city.
Meteorologically/geek speaking, I love this stuff.
