At least three people were wounded in a shooting Wednesday at a business complex in Phoenix, Arizona.
A Phoenix police spokesman said the suspect was looking for a specific person, but got into an altercation in the building prior to the shooting. Witnesses tell HLN affiliate KTVK they heard at least six to seven gunshots.
The shooting came on the same day that former Arizona Congresswoman Gabby Giffords made an emotional plea to lawmakers in Washington for gun control. Giffords was shot in the head by a gunman two years ago during a constituent meeting near Tucson.
KTVK reports one of Wednesday's shooting victims is listed in critical condition. The other two victims’ injuries are not considered life-threatening. Two other people were taken to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries is not yet known.
Police have evacuated the building and cleared a parking garage. Authorities later surrounded a home seven miles from the shooting scene. It’s not yet known if the home belongs to the suspect.
A manhunt is under way for the gunman who is described as a white male.
