A 29-year-old Florida man was arrested after police say he tried to force his fiancé to swallow her diamond engagement ring because she no longer wanted to live with him, HLN affiliate WKMG reported.

Faron Thompson was charged with battery and child neglect.

WKMG reported police said Thompson denied the allegations, saying “women always claim assault, but never accept responsibility for provoking someone.”
