Elton John, David Furnish welcome second son

Elton John and David Furnish are dads again.

On Tuesday, John announced on his website that he and Furnish welcomed their second child, Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John. Elijah was born Friday via surrogate in Los Angeles. This is the couple's second son -- 2-year-old Zachary was born in 2010.

"Both of us have longed to have children, but the reality that we now have two sons is almost unbelievable. The birth of our second son completes our family in a most precious and perfect way. It is difficult to fully express how we are feeling at this time; we are just overwhelmed with happiness and excitement," John and Furnish told the British publication Hello!

John also told the magazine a second child is something he wanted. "I think it’s difficult to be an only child, and to be an only child of someone famous. I want Zachary to have a sibling."
