All right, this is Katherine Webb, AJ McCarron's girlfriend. McCarron is the quarterback of... it doesn't really matter, does it? This is Katherine Webb.
Geez, Internet. It's like you've never seen a beautiful woman before.
Ms. Webb, the reigning Miss Alabama, played an important part in Monday night's BCS National Championship Game, in that she gave people something to talk about while Alabama was busy taking Notre Dame to school.
Seventy-three-year-old legendary announcer Brent Musberger unraveled a rambling ode to the 23-year-old that went something like this:
"You quarterbacks, you get all the good looking women. What a beautiful woman. Wow... (Kirk Herbstreit: "AJ's doing some things right down in Tuscaloosa!") So if you're a youngster in Alabama, start getting the football out and throwing it around the backyard with pops."
That's right, kiddos. Get good at football, win a few championships and you too can have a hot girlfriend.
Some fast facts: Webb competed in Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants. She went to Auburn (escandalo!) and now models and works for Chick-fil-A as a training director.
During the game -- a game nearly as uneventful as Alabama's rout of LSU in last year's championship meeting -- Webb gained thousands of Twitter followers. Tens of thousands, actually. She started the night with a modest 5K followers, and as of now she has nearly 124,000. Go ahead, follow her. It's OK!
Yes, other stuff happened Monday night. Alabama shut out Notre Dame in the first half, putting up 28 completely uncontested points. The Irish showed a small spark with two scoring drives in the third, but it was done long before that. So done.
It was done the moment the viewing public learned about Katherine Webb.
