Background: Travis Alexander was born and raised in Riverside, California. His parents, both drug addicts, are now deceased. He and his three brothers and four sisters were taken in by his grandmother, Norma Sarvey. Their grandmother introduced the kids to the Mormon religion. During high school Alexander let his faith guide him. After graduating high school, he went on a two-year mission in Denver, Colorado. Alexander moved to Mesa, Arizona for the strong Mormon community. In Arizona, Travis’ faith helped him to become a successful motivational speaker, businessman and author of Raising You. He stated working for Pre-Paid Legal Services Inc., a company that sells legal services and insurance to people who cannot afford lawyers. Alexander met Jodi Arias at a sale conference in February 2007. They dated for a few months until Arias found out she was not the only woman in his life. However, they kept in touch until he was murdered.
The case against Jodi Arias reopens this Friday night on Nancy Grace Mysteries at 8 & 10 p.m. ET on HLN.
