Oh, how could you rank this level of adorableness? We couldn't! In no order, the moments in animal news that made us laugh, cry, and squee:
Schoep the arthritic dog (above)
When John Unger's friend snapped a few pictures of Unger comforting his old, arthritic dog Schoep in the warm waters of Lake Superior, animal lovers everywhere nearly lost their heartstrings. Thanks to donations, Schoep is now much more comfortable with his daily doggy activities.
Don't click if you don't want to cry. The mean people at the Humane Society documented the story of one of its cutest rescues, and we were powerless to resist.
On one hand, Obie's condition is sort of sad. His elderly owners loved him a little too much, and fed him all sorts of people food. At his heaviest, he was an incredible 77 pounds, but thanks to a doggy diet and exercise, he is slimming down.
Dog gives sweetest welcome home

A few things about this piece of news: As you probably know, panda births are rare and are met with joy no matter where they happen in the world. Also, have you ever seen a baby panda? Now multiply that cuteness by seven or eight. It hurts, it nearly hurts.
When Beyonce, a teeny tiny Dachshund pup, was born, she could fit on a spoon. Or an iPod. She was a contender for the tiniest dog in the world, and we loved every inch (or two) of her.
Dog in wheelchair gets new lease on life
This adorable dog didn't let a set of bum front legs set her back -- she rolls on thanks to a pair of specially made wheels, and dang if she doesn't look adorable doing it.
A team rescues a baby elephant from a well, and it immediately takes off across the plains for its mother. (Ed. note: While writing this, I accidentally watched this video and cried. In public. Fair warning.)
The Internet Cat Film Festival
Finally, our late night Internet hobby was legitimized.
The pup has a disorder where she can't digest food normally, so she has to sit pretty in a high chair. We are allowed to think this is cute, because she seems to be doing juuuust fine!
