'But what if...' Playoff scenarios for every NFL team

There are a handful of very useful lists that always emerge this time of year. They are, in order of importance:

1. Who's been naughty, who's been nice

2. NFL playoff scenarios

3. New Year's resolutions

Two of those are fairly straightforward, if also somewhat elastic.

But then there's item number two on that list of lists and well, there is seldom anything straightforward about the myriad sets of circumstances which can result in any one of a handful of NFL teams qualifying for the playoffs.

Many teams have already clinched one of the 12 available spots, but even those squads are still fighting for bigger prizes like a division title (and the resulting playoff home game) or a first-round bye. And for every one Atlanta Falcons -- whose playoff seed is set and locked -- there seem to be a squadron of Washington Redskins, whose fate could fall anywhere from division champ to not making the postseason.

Speaking of the Redskins, for those that like things tidy and dramatic there is no better game the NFL's final week than their's against rival Dallas, with the NFC East title going to the winner.

So what about your favorite team? What happens if they win next week? If they lose can they still sneak in (oh hey, Vikings)?
