NEED TO KNOW
  • The Screen Actors Guild Award nominations were announced Wednesday, with few surprises
  • Top three films include 'Lincoln,' 'Les Miserables,' and 'Silver Linings Playbook'

The nominees for the SAG Awards are in, and it looks like the usual suspects!

Though there weren't many surprises, three films -- the literary musical adaptation of "Les Miserables," Steven Spielberg's Civil War- era drama, "Lincoln," and the romance-with-a-twist, "Silver Linings Playbook"-- all scored four nominations each, including outstanding performance by a cast.

The other two films to score an ensemble cast nomination included Ben Affleck's Iran hostage thriller "Argo," and the British film "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel."

The individual acting nominations include Daniel Day Lewis, Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones for their performances in "Lincoln," and Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and Robert DeNiro for "Playbook."

"Les Mis" also had two individual nominations for Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman, for best supporting actress and best actor, respectively.

The world of TV was also honored, with "Modern Family" leading the charge with four nominations, including best comedy ensemble. "Boardwalk Empire," "Breaking Bad," "Downton Abbey," "Homeland," and "30 Rock" all followed with three nominations each.

The entire list of nominees can be found here. The SAG awards will be presented in Los Angeles on January 27.
