Drew Barrymore is ready to introduce baby Olive to the world!
The new mom admits she is very protective of her first child, but doing a cover shoot for People magazine just felt right.
“I was thinking back the other day to the many milestones I’ve had in this magazine. It was a very positive, introspective moment,” Barrymore told People.
The first-time mother said there are a range of emotions that come with taking care of her newborn. “You have the highest highs, and yet you’re facing the biggest fear of ‘How do I keep someone alive?’”
But Barrymore does have one thing down, she knows how to make her little girl smile. “I dance, I sing, I jump up and down,” says Barrymore of her tactics on getting a smile from 9-week-old Olive.
As for Barrymore’s tumultuous upbringing, she says she has learned some things from her past.
“I’m trying to figure out how to do things differently than I grew up. I know a lot of what works and what doesn’t work. I’ve got some really great blueprints of what not to do.”
