At least three people, including the shooter, are dead after a shooting Tuesday at a mall outside of Portland, Oregon.
Authorities responded to 911 calls of an active shooting at the Clackamas Town Center in Happy Valley, Oregon. According to police, initial reports stated a suspect with a firearm was shooting inside the mall.
Witnesses told KOIN the gunman, who appeared to be wearing a Halloween-style mask, entered the mall through a rear entrance at the Macy's store on the north side of the mall.
Christina Fisher, a customer shopping at the time of the incident, told HLN affiliate KOIN, they were told “to stand in a group by the top of the escalators and stay away from the windows out of the aisle.”
She continued, “We stood there for probably a good 20 minutes. All of the sudden, somebody came through with a radio, yelling 'Get down!'"
Authorities told KOIN they believed the gunman acted alone, and there are no other suspects. They also said a person suffered a traumatic injury in the shooting, but the extent of the injury is not yet known. Authorities have not released any details about the gunman or the victims.
Officials have confirmed that the gunman died of a self-inflicted gunshot.
