Eddie Murphy tops the Forbes list of most overpaid actors of 2012.

Eddie Murphy's recent string of flops has put him at the top of the Forbes list of 2012's "Most Overpaid Actors in Hollywood."

The 51-year-old actor, who was once one of Hollywood's most bankable stars, landed at the top of the list after disappointing box office numbers for "Imagine That," "Tower Heist,"  "A Thousand Words," and "Meet Dave."

Forbes calculated box office receipts against paychecks to find out how much revenue each actor was bringing in. Murphy managed to bring in only $2.30 for every dollar he was paid by the studio.

Rom-com queens didn't fare too well, either. Actress Katherine Heigl was No. 2 on the list, bringing in a calculated $3.40 for every dollar she made, with Reese Witherspoon coming in third, with $3.90 for every dollar.
