A Manhattan nanny, Yoselyn Ortega, was arraigned Wednesday on two counts of first-degree murder for allegedly stabbing two children in her care on October 25. Ortega was also indicted on two counts of second-degree murder. Ortega has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and is being held without bond. Her next court date is set for January 16.

The indictment filed earlier this month says Ortega intended to kill 6-year-old Lucia Krim and her 2-year-old brother Leo Krim.
Police say that the mother of the children, Marina Krim, found the 50-year-old nanny in the bathroom of the family's Upper West Side luxury apartment stabbing herself, while the children bled to death in the bathtub.
